About us

Walk for a Cause is a Northamptonshire based charity set up and run by a group of impassioned local people.

The Charity was set up in 2006 and was initially based at Kingsthorpe Medical Centre. Its aim was to help buy essential medical equipment ( not being funded by the NHS) for local hospitals and to help local community based projects. Its initial event and signature annual fund-raiser was a sponsored walk around Pitsford Reservoir. Our logo depicts the shape of the reservoir and the route of the walk around its perimeter. The footprints reflect our walkers, large and small!

Over the years, the Charity has grown and now supports many other local good causes with a proportion of monies raised being directed to supporting health and education projects in developing countries.

The committee comprises a mix of dedicated trustees and volunteers who ensure that all profits and donations go directly to our beneficiaries.

Each year, Walk for a Cause hosts a range of fund-raising events and social activities.

Over the last 10 years, the Charity has raised over £200,000.

None of this would have been possible without our supporters, volunteers and contributors.
